Are glass treads safe for daily use with kids?
Yes. Tempered laminated glass is rated for residential stair loads and engineered to hold together if broken. We also install anti-slip surface treatments on every tread — the glass is not bare polished. Daily use by children is a normal requirement we design for.
Do glass treads show footprints and smudges?
They show marks like any glass surface. Most clients wipe them down weekly with standard glass cleaner. Low-iron glass — which has a clearer, less green tint — shows fingerprints slightly more than standard float glass but looks significantly better in the space.
Can glass treads handle Florida's humidity cycles?
Glass itself isn't affected by humidity. The concern is hardware corrosion at connection points. We use 316L stainless steel for all fasteners and hardware — the same grade used in marine applications. Jacksonville Beach and Atlantic Beach coastal environments aren't a problem with the right spec.
